Psalm 88, Arrangement by Wesley Tyler Robinson

[This is an arrangement of what is seen as one of the darkest Psalms in Holy Writ. But this Psalm reveals the spiritual depression that David, a great man of God, dealt with consistently, and helps those who suffer from like instances relate.]

Let me bring praise to You, O Lord hear my cry!
My soul is full of troubles, while near to Sheol I lie.
I am counted with those who go to the pit; a man who has no strength;
Like one set loose among the dead; laying slain in the grave.

Like one who You remember no more, I am cut off from Your hand;
You have put me in the depths of the pit, in foreign darkened lands.
Your wrath is close upon me; You overwhelm me with all your waves;
You made my companions in horror to shun me; shut in so that I cannot escape.

Every day I call upon you, O LORD; I spread out my hands;
Can the departed rise up to praise you? Do you work wonders among the dead?
But I, O LORD, cry to you; in the morning and in all the day;
Why do you hide your face from me? O LORD, why do you cast my soul away?
